The product launch roadmap

Little steps.
Something to build on.

An articulated head. A wardrobe you can swap. Here’s the practical path from that idea to a physical release.

In development. No launch date is announced. The character and clothing visuals are concepts, rather than evidence of a finished physical product.

01Preparation evidencedBrand and web preparation

Recover the original identity and artwork. Prepare the wardrobe tool, clear product information and an enquiry pathway.

  • Original KNODD wordmark and character images recovered.
  • Master slogan and studio identity documented.
  • Wardrobe previews, website and public launch resources prepared.

Before this stage closes: Complete live wardrobe, contact form and public status checks. Confirm concept labels distinguish visual choices from finished products.

The gate to pass
The wardrobe tool and enquiry routes work, with accurate concepts and clear physical-product status.

02Planned - needs validationProduct and production development

Assess materials, production processes and potential manufacturing partners for the character and articulated head.

  • Character proportions and head-joint design requirements.
  • Material and production-process options, including specialist manufacture where appropriate.
  • Potential partner review covering sample capability, quality controls and production suitability.
  • Physical joint prototypes and repeat-motion, stability, part-retention and assembly checks.
  • A record of sample revisions and unresolved issues.

The gate to pass
A feasible production route and physical head-joint sample support the intended motion. Any supplier claims or commitments need verification.

03Planned - needs validationInterchangeable wardrobe

Develop an expandable wardrobe of colour, texture and outfit concepts into practical physical garments.

  • Garment designs and dimensions.
  • Material, fabric and manufacturing-process options.
  • Design samples to assess fit, fastening and repeated changes.
  • Fabric behaviour, colour stability and care checks.
  • Potential clothing partner review if external manufacture is proposed.

The gate to pass
A garment sample fits and changes as intended, with material, care and production requirements documented.

04Planned - needs validationMaterials, suitability and production quality

Review character and garment samples for intended use and repeatable production quality.

  • Sample consistency across the chosen material and production process.
  • Finish, dimensions, assembly and garment fit records.
  • Small-parts, detachable components, fasteners and intended age-suitability review.
  • Relevant safety obligations identified and any required testing completed before sale.
  • A repeatable quality acceptance process and product-care information.

The gate to pass
Evidence supports product claims, intended use, age guidance and production quality. Any required safety checks are complete.

05Planned - needs validationDesign rights and final offer

Confirm design rights, final specifications and commercial terms for each character, garment or studio item.

  • Original-design records or verified permission for each third-party design.
  • Final dimensions, materials, finish and included components.
  • Verified production capability and costs, price and realistic lead time.
  • Partner terms and order quantities assessed if external manufacture is chosen.
  • Clear distinction between finished products, wardrobe concepts and optional custom print requests.

The gate to pass
Each launch item has verified design rights, a suitable production route and a complete, accurate offer.

06Planned - needs validationFulfilment and customer support

Check the complete journey before accepting an order.

  • Packaging and transit checks for the actual products.
  • Production QC, acceptance and any partner handover responsibilities.
  • Confirmed delivery options, agreed pickup if offered and associated charges.
  • Written quotation or checkout confirmation, as appropriate.
  • Working enquiry, privacy, terms, care, returns and after-sales support information.

The gate to pass
A trial order can move from confirmation to delivery with clear customer information and a working support route.

07Conditional on earlier gatesLimited release and review

Open a small release only after the earlier physical-product and fulfilment gates pass.

  • A final review of all preceding gate evidence.
  • A confirmed list of available products and quantities.
  • Feedback and issue tracking after delivery.
  • Expansion decisions based on actual production and customer experience.

The gate to pass
All earlier product gates pass before launch. Further designs follow only when the first release supports them.

Updated 18 October 2026. Stages close when their evidence and checks are complete. This is a development plan, rather than a delivery promise.
